Benjamin Meunier
Ben Meunier is the University Librarian at The Chinese University of Hong Kong since April 2023. Ben is leading a number of initiatives within CUHK and with Hong Kong universities to maximise the impact of research from the region, including Open Books Hong Kong. CUHK Library is working on the establishment of a Diamond OA megajournal, due to launch in late 2025.Ben is also Chair of the Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance and incoming Chair of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Libraries Alliance (GHMULA). He established a GHMULA Special Interest Group on Open Science which starts convening this summer.Previously, he was the Director of Operations at University College London (UCL) Library, Culture, Collections and Open Science. He was Secretary of the LIBER (Association of European Research Libraries) Architecture Group between 2018 and 2023. Ben was the Library lead for the construction of the £69m UCL Student Centre and the development of library services in UCL East, setting a model for the university campus of the future.
