Journal issues can run late for a variety of reasons, including delays at all stages of editorial and production workflows. These delays can be due to anything from low submission volume, reviewer fatigue, understaffing of journal offices, author and editor response times, or typesetting complications. The end result is a journal potentially missing a financially crucial deadline, publishing multiple issues in short succession, or getting stuck putting out issues always a year behind their current volume. In this networking session, we invite all stakeholders affected by these forms of drag and their consequences to share pain points, concerns, attempts at solutions, and lessons learned.
