As university presses face constricting university budgets and increasing book bans and controversy around academic freedom, this session will discuss ways to advocate for a university press with campus leaders, funding agencies, and other stakeholders. Topics will include: crafting a powerful story about the press, the types or data and reports that have been well-received by the administration, and other specific strategies that presses have found successful. The session will be practical to presses of all sizes and will help staff members at every level think about how they can communicate the value of their press.
